NBK donates USD half million to Somalia famine victims
As part of its pan-Arab social responsibility and outreach, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) donated USD 500,000 to feed people in Somalia suffering from lack of food and water due to famine, among the worst hit are children.
NBK also launched an emergency donation campaign through all its branches and channels in collaboration with the Fundraising People's Committee and Kuwait Red Crescent Society. A special NBK account number (1000354951) has been set up to channel donations.
NBK Group Deputy CEO Isam J. Al Sager met the Member of the Fundraising People's Committee Qais N. Al Nusif to consider all means of support and assistance that NBK can provide for Somalia famine victims.
"This initiative is part of NBK's corporate social responsibility to help people in crisis in the Arab world," Al Sager said.
Al Sager indicated that all NBK branches, Call Centre and Watani Online (WOL) are ready to receive and channel the donations, as well as NBK account number (1000354951) that has been allocated for this purpose.
Al Nusif commended NBK's social role and its humanitarian efforts to help Somalia's people cope with the consequences of the drought and famine.
Al Sager expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Fundraising People's Committee and Kuwait Red Crescent Society for their active and prompt response to tackle famine in Somalia.
