Makkah:The Royal Court issued the following statement:
'According to the two Royal Orders No. 7311/MB dated 24/9/1429 H. and No. 6605/B dated 15/6/1430 H. and the regulation of sighting the crescent of lunar months issued according to the Cabinet decision No. 143 dated 22/8/1418 H., the Supreme Court held a meeting at its summer headquarters in Taif Province this evening, corresponding to Friday 29th of Ramadan 1433 H. regarding the blessed Eid Al-Fitr.
After having reviewed all reports it received in this concern and studied them and according to the Supreme Court's decision No. 36/H. dated 29/8/1433 H. stating the start of the current Ramadan on Friday 1/9/1433 H. corresponding to 20/7/2012, the meeting issued the following decision No. 37/H. dated 29-30 Ramadan 1433 H.
Thanks to Allah Almighty and Prayer and Peace be Upon the Prophet who instructed us to fast and breakfast upon sighting the crescent and if it was not visible, you complete your fasting for the 30th day and due to the lack of evidence of sighting the new moon this evening of Friday the 29th of Ramadan of this year 1433 H corresponding to 17/8/2012, the Supreme Court decides that Saturday corresponding to 18/8/2012 is the complementary day of Ramadan 1433 H. and that Sunday corresponding to 1/10/1433 H. according to Ummal Qura calender which falls on the 19th of August 2012 is the first day of Eid Al-Fitr which falls on the first day of Shawal 1433 H.
On this occasion, the Supreme Court, extends congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Crown Prince, the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the expatriates residing in this country and the entire Islamic Ummah (nation) all over the world on the advent of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, appealing to Allah Almighty to accept our good deeds and forgive us and ask Allah to bestow the virtue of stability, prosperity and security on all of us, and have Muslims united and reconciled.'
